How to choose a JAMB CBT app
Skolra is not part of JAMB. For official news, see jamb.gov.ng.
Pick an app that copies the real JAMB CBT (four subjects, 180 questions, two hours, the same keys), explains every answer, covers the years you need and shows its price before you pay. Here is a checklist, and how Skolra (our own app) measures up, including what it cannot do.

What to look for
Seven things to check in any JAMB CBT app. Under each one is how Skolra does.
A full timed mock exam
The UTME is Use of English and three other subjects: 180 questions on one 2-hour clock. Short quizzes do not train you to keep going for two hours.
Skolra: yes. The JAMB mock is Use of English and 3 subjects, 180 questions and 2 hours on one clock.
The real CBT keys
In the real exam you can answer with the keyboard alone: A to D to pick, N for next, P for previous and S to submit. Using them in practice saves time on the day.
Skolra: yes. The same keys work in the mock when you use a keyboard.
An explanation for every answer
The letter alone does not tell you why. An explanation teaches you the topic, so you get the next question right too.
Skolra: yes. Every question has the answer and an explanation.
Your subjects and years
Check that all four of your subjects are there, with past questions from many years.
Skolra: yes, all 25 UTME subjects. The years differ by subject: see the years for each subject.
A calculator on the screen
The real CBT has a calculator on the screen, and you cannot bring your own.
Skolra: yes. The mock has one on the exam screen.
Works without internet
Data costs money, and the network can be poor. Check whether the app needs it.
Skolra: no. Skolra needs internet.
A clear price
You should know what you pay, and how long it lasts, before you pay.
Skolra: free to download, and some questions are free every day. One activation opens everything for one exam season (a year). The price is shown in the app.
Questions to ask before you pay for any JAMB app
- Does it have a full JAMB mock: four subjects and 180 questions on one 2-hour clock?
- Does every question have an explanation, or only the answer?
- Are your four subjects there, and from which years?
- How much is it, and how long does it last? One exam season, one month, or something else?
- Can you try it free before you pay?
- Who makes it, and how do you reach them if something goes wrong? Look for a company name and an email address.
Never pay anyone who promises the real JAMB questions before the exam. JAMB does not release them, so the seller is lying.
Free apps and paid apps
A free app is a good way to start. Check that it explains its answers, and that the answers are right: a wrong answer teaches you the wrong thing.
A paid app should show its price, and what you get for it, before you pay. Skolra is free to download, and you can answer some questions free every day. One activation opens everything for one exam season (a year). The price is shown in the app.
Is Skolra JAMB's app?
No. Skolra is independent and is not part of JAMB. For JAMB's own software and news, go to jamb.gov.ng.
