How to register (the 2026 process)

  1. Check your NIN details. JAMB uses your details from NIMC and will not correct them. Fix any mistake in your name or date of birth with NIMC first.
  2. Get your profile code. From your own phone number, send NIN, a space, then your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019. For example: NIN 00123456789. Do not use a post-paid or special bundle line, or a number someone else has used to register. A 10-character profile code comes back to the same number.
  3. Buy your e-PIN. Take your profile code to a bank, NIPOST, a mobile money operator, a microfinance bank or another partner. The e-PIN comes to you by SMS.
  4. Register at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. The list is on jamb.gov.ng. Bring your choice of schools and courses, a working email address of your own, your O'level results (or "awaiting result"), your certificates to upload, your four UTME subjects, and the towns where you want to sit the mock and the UTME.
  5. Fingerprints and photo. The centre takes all ten fingerprints and a live photo. Passport photographs are not accepted. Your slip is printed after your fingerprints are confirmed. Group or school registration is not allowed.

Choosing your subjects

Pick your four UTME subjects to match the course you want. See the JAMB subject combinations for popular courses, and always check your school's entry in the official JAMB brochure.

Then read the JAMB syllabus for each subject you pick, and start on the JAMB novel: every candidate answers questions on it in Use of English. JAMB past questions for each subject show you what the questions look like.

Changing your course or school

After registering, you can change your course or school at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. JAMB's payment page lists this at ₦2,500, plus a ₦100 CBT service charge. In 2026 the window opened around 15 May.

Age

For 2026, candidates had to be at least 16 by 30 September 2026. Younger candidates could still register, but they can only be admitted as exceptional candidates, with at least 80% in each of the UTME, Post-UTME, SSCE and an extra assessment. JAMB says the minimum age remains 16.
