Report: FG proposes harmonised 2027 exam timetable

According to reports, the Federal Government has proposed a single timetable for national examinations in 2027, with results aimed for release by August 2027. We have not yet seen an official notice.
JAMB shared the proposed timetable on Thursday, 22 October 2026, stating that the dates are provisional pending official confirmation. Under the proposal, the UTME will run from March 15 to 25, 2027. The NECO Senior School Certificate Examination is set for April 1 to May 14, 2027. The WASSCE is slated for May 11 to June 18, 2027. NABTEB examinations are planned for June 1 to July 5, 2027. The NBAIS exams will take place from 10 June to 9 July 2027.
JAMB said candidates will begin tertiary admission processes by September 2027 if the timetable is adopted. In May 2026, JAMB announced that candidates for Colleges of Education education and non-engineering agriculture programmes will be exempt from UTME starting the 2027 admission cycle. In August 2026, JAMB introduced an online system for 2026 UTME candidates to verify and upload O’Level results without visiting a CBT centre.

This proposal concerns students preparing for the listed examinations and those seeking admission to tertiary institutions.
