Akwa Ibom State launches 10 million Naira scholarship for 150 students
Newspapers report that Dr Anieti Udofia, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, has instituted a 10 million Naira scholarship benefiting 150 Ikono Ibom students in Uyo Local Government Area. We have not yet seen an official notice.
The scholarship scheme was announced at a youth sensitisation and educational empowerment programme held at the Community Civic Centre. Udofia said the initiative aims to ease financial burdens on students struggling to meet educational needs.
Udofia noted that Governor Umo Eno is the first governor to appoint an Ikono Ibom indigene into the State Executive Council.
