3.Which of the following is the dimension of pressure
- AML²T⁻²
- BML⁻¹T⁻²Correct

- AFractional distillation alone
- BNeutralisation with sodium hydroxide, followed by filtration
- CNeutralisation with sodium hydroxide, followed by distillation
- DFiltration, followed by distillationCorrect

- AEndorsed
- BRetired
- CDiscountedCorrect
- DDishonoured
Show answerHide answer
Answer: C
Remember the four things a holder can do with a bill of exchange before it matures: hold it till the due date, endorse it to a creditor, send it to the bank for collection, or negotiate it to a bank for immediate cash. It is that last one the question is describing.
When you take an accepted bill to your banker before its due date, the bank gives you the face value less a charge for the period the money is tied down until maturity. That charge is called discount, and the bill is therefore said to be discounted. In the books, Bank is debited with the cash received, Discount on Bills (an expense) is debited with the bank's charge, and Bills Receivable is credited with the full face value.
