JAMB: Admissions Outside CAPS May Not Be Recognised for NYSC

JAMB urged all universities to fully follow approved admission guidelines to avoid unrecognised admissions. The warning was issued by JAMB Registrar Prof. Segun Aina at the 2026 NUC retreat in Abuja.

Admissions processed outside the Central Admissions Processing System may not be recognised for NYSC participation. Candidates admitted outside CAPS risk being stranded and unable to join the National Youth Service Corps scheme. JAMB described CAPS as essential for transparent, accountable, and verifiable university admissions. JAMB is improving CAPS reliability with better system redundancy, governance, and business continuity measures.
