NUC to Introduce New Measures for University Admission and Governance

The National Universities Commission is launching new initiatives aimed at university entry procedures, academic quality, accreditation and governance of institutions. It will carry out monitoring visits after accreditation and also perform post-matriculation and capacity-assessment visits to better university entry procedures. The body intends to create software for accreditation that will improve openness, handle data more effectively, and ensure regulatory adherence. NUC also aims to draft a nationwide AI roadmap and policy framework for Nigeria’s university system. These measures are proposed, not final, and aim to strengthen university oversight and student intake.
Candidates should note that the new monitoring visits will affect admission procedures and that the software and AI roadmap are part of a broader effort to improve university standards.
