JAMB subject combination for Cyber Security

Good to know: Cyber Security has no row of its own in the JAMB brochure. Schools list it under Computer Science, so Computer Science's rule applies. A few schools, such as FUTO and FUNAAB, use a rule based on Physics and Chemistry instead.

UTME subjects and WAEC (O'level) requirements for Cyber Security

You write four subjects in the UTME. Use of English is compulsory for every course.

Rules for every course at these schools

  • Federal University of Technology, Akure: All programmes need at least a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Federal University of Technology, Owerri: Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry are mandatory, in addition to the departments' other credit passes.

Direct Entry

As Computer Science: two 'A' Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject.

What JAMB score do you need for Cyber Security?

The answer depends on the school, and on what its list measures. From the schools' own 2026/2027 lists:

  • UTME score (out of 400): the Cyber Security mark we hold runs from 170 at FUTO to 200 at ESUT, FUNAAB and UNIJOS.
  • Aggregate worked out by the school: the mark runs from 55.75 at UI to 66.075 at UNILAG. Each school works out its aggregate in its own way, so compare a school only with itself.

JAMB's lowest mark for any university is 150, and a course can ask for more than the school's general mark. See the Cyber Security cut-off mark at each of the 11 universities.
